Pink Curing Salt


Pink Curing Salt is also known as Prague Powder #1.


Curing salt is a pink-colored combination Sodium Nitrite (6.25%) and Sodium Chloride (salt - 93.75%).   It is colored pink to give a pink color to the preserved meat, and to distinguish it from regular salt.  This is used to cure meats for longer term storage.


Use 4 oz per 100 lb of meat and/or poultry to achieve 156.25 sodium nitrite calculated ingoing.
